How to transmit a culture from one generation to the next

One of the Japanese famous dancing show "Awa-odori" is in a critical situation this year.  Recently, a newspaper company utilized this show as a source of profit regardless of huge deficit of the show.  This year, the city tried to improve the profit strcture of the show deminishing the size of the show.
However, the dancers protested this decision and performed the dance as the previous years.  They stated that in order to protect this great tradition, it is a bad choice to diminish the show because we can not stress  the strong point of this show if we diinished it.
I think that the statement of dancers are right, but to secure the profit of the show is also necessary to continue the show every year.
It is very difficult to tranmit a culture fro one generation to the next because we have to secure both profit and good point of the tradition.  One important point is that we should not persue profit from a tradition without taking any risk.  If we want to make a profit from a tradition, we should contribute financially and even if it will couse deficit.
I hope you will have a nice time this week.
